Fishburne Football – In the Press

“We have a brand new coaching staff,” said Fishburne coach Val Gochenour, who is one of only two returning coaches. “We raised the staff from three to seven, including volunteers.”

Is single-sex education a good thing? We think so…

As educators, we respect the debate surrounding single-sex and co-ed classrooms. We also welcome research that proves single-sex education is a viable model. This data confirms decades of classroom experience here. We know that single-sex education for young men in grades 7 –12 can produce great results by imparting confidence, knowledge and experiences that ensure success in college and throughout life.

First Formation – As seen by The News Leader

They were among 122 cadets, about half of whom were first-year students, to participate in the 131st opening ceremony of the school year. Fishburne Military School, 225 S. Wayne Ave., opened in 1879 and is designed to instill leadership and self-discipline in cadets in grades seven through 12.

First Formation Tomorrow! Plus Summer School Images

Over 120 Cadets will start the 2009-2010 School Year at Fishburne Military School. The corps contains 62 returning cadets “old men” and 59 cadets that are new to FMS. First Formation, beginning at 9:00am on Tuesday, August 25th, will mark a new beginning and the start of the Fall Semester.

Michael’s Ride II

On October 12, 2009, I and other cyclists plan to do “Michael’s Ride II”, a one hundred (100) mile cycling event purposed to raise money for the Tuition Assistance Fund atFishburne Military School in Michael’s name. It will begin in Waynesboro, Virginia and end in Richmond, Virginia.
